NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man was arrested early Friday morning after breaking in to the Whildhorse Saloon and getting stuck in an air vent.

It happened around 4:00 a.m. Friday when an employee saw Larico James Nixon walk into the bar from the back entrance on 1st Avenue North, but never came out.

When officers got to the bar, they heard noise coming from the 3rd floor. Nixon was shouting for police because he was stuck in the 3rd floor air vent.

Police said Nixon’s torso was hanging from the air vent 10-12 feet in the air. Police told him to stay where he was, but he quickly got out of the vent by climbing down the electrical conduit and drain pipes.

Firefighters checked Nixon for injuries because he fell to the street during his exit, but he had none that were serious.

That’s when he told police that he had swallowed a large quantity of cocaine.

Nixon was transported to the hospital, but that’s when police said he became combative and uncooperative. They said he became so physical, that the ambulance had to be stopped at Church Street and 12th Avenue, where additional officers were called to restrain him.

Nixon was charged with burglary and resisting arrest.
