A man was taken into custody after crashing into two utility poles in west Nashville.

The incident happened around midnight Wednesday on West End Avenue.

According to Metro Nashville Police, the driver was not hurt badly and was able to get up and speak with officers.

Police said he was the only one in the vehicle when his silver Jeep flipped and knocked down the poles. The wood snapped at the base of the poles, leaving a mess of wires in the road.

Alcohol may have been involved, police said. Officers on the scene were walking the driver through sobriety tests.

His name was not known.

AT&T crews were expected to remain on scene for the next few hours or so.
