NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Police say a man was arrested for violating Metro’s health order that requires all residents to wear masks. He also faces other charges, including public intoxication.
According to Metro police, officers saw the man while patrolling Broadway near 4th Avenue South. He was not wearing a facial covering or maintaining a safe social distance from others.

Police say he was asked several times to wear a mask but refused and at some point, became “verbally aggressive.”
Officers said he also had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and had trouble complying with basic directions. When asked, police said he admitted to having only “six to seven” drinks.
He was taken into custody and charged with a health regulation violation, disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
