Posted

Authorities said they arrested a suspect after a man was stabbed in the face.

Police went to a Citgo gas station in the area of North 1st Street and Dickerson Pike just before 10:30 p.m. Saturday after a report came in of a man who had been stabbed in the face.

They found the victim, identified as Devaughn F. Bass, with a severe cut to his face. He had reportedly lost a lot of blood.

According to the victim, he'd been stabbed by a man wearing yellow shorts and a white shirt. The victim told officials the suspect used a large knife and fled on foot inbound on Dickerson Pike.

Authorities searched that area and found a man matching the suspect's description sitting on a curb at Grace Street and Joseph Avenue. When they told him to stand up, they saw he had been sitting on a large knife. He was taken into custody and positively identified by the victim.

The man, later identified by police as Marell Delarne Miller, refused to speak to detectives. He was booked into jail without incident.
