FRANKLIN, Tenn. – A man has been arrested and charged after detectives discovered the sale of crack cocaine.
Police said 19-year-old Joshua C. Walker was taken into custody Friday after a search warrant was executed at a home in the 500 block of Iris.
Officials said the sale was regular and ongoing, and it troubled residents in that area.
“Our investigation was initiated after several neighbors complained about drug activity centering on this apartment,” said Detective Sergeant Don Zelaya. “When neighbors talk, we listen – and today’s search warrant and arrest were successful because of the trusting relationships we have with law-abiding citizens who are unwilling to accept drug dealing in their neighborhood.”
Walker was facing a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and a felony charge of manufacturing and distribution of crack cocaine in a designated drug-free zone. Authorities said the apartment was near a park and a daycare.
Walker was being held on a $30,000 bond and has been scheduled to appear in court at 1 p.m. September 24.
