MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WTVF) — Police arrested 19-year-old Tywan Smith for his alleged involvement in a triple shooting in Murfreesboro. He was also connected to an alleged attempted murder in Nashville.
On Thursday, Smith and two other men, 22-year-old Eric Simmons and 21-year-old D'Juan Bowers, got into an argument at a home on Herald Lane in Murfreesboro.
In a press release, Murfreesboro Police officials say Bowers pulled a gun on Simmons and Smith before shooting them and they fired back. All three men were injured and taken to the hospital.
Smith was treated, released and taken to the Rutherford County Detention Center. He was later released to the MNPD for allegedly shooting a man in May.
Metro Police officials say Smith got into an argument with his ex-girlfriend and a man she was with outside her home. shot a man after who was with his ex-girlfriend. Smith allegedly opened fire on them hitting the man in the hand and grazing his stomach.
At the time of this shooting, Smith was free on $7,500 bond from a March arrest on charges of aggravated assault and felony vandalism stemming from a domestic dispute with his mother.
