Mt. Juliet police officers arrested a man for renting out a home he didn't own.
A couple realized they were scammed when they tried to rent a home in the Meadow Glen subdivision.
Police said a couple responded to a Craigslist ad about the home rental by meeting up with Saleem willis, but went by a false name at the time.
They gave him money for a background check, but soon realized he didn't own the home and he was scamming another family.
Police arrested Willis. Police found that he got access to the property because he used to be a subcontractor at the home.
The owners had actually just moved to Florida.
Willis was arrested and booked into the Wilson County Jail, charged with Theft of Property, Aggravated Criminal Trespass, and Deceptive Business Practice.
