Officials with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has asked for the public’s assistance in identify a suspect involved in a burglary and vandalism in the Woodlawn area.
On Monday, a home on the 2900 block of Cooper Creek Road on Monday was vandalized at around 6:15 a.m.
Officers said the suspect broke in through a door of the house. When the homeowner approached the suspect, he said was looking for a man named Derek. When she told him there was no one there with that name, he left.
The same man then broke into another home on the 1200 block of Freedom Drive at 8 a.m.
Police said he broke in through a back window. The homeowner’s son was home, but the suspect told the boy he was a water repair man.
The son called his mom, but by the time he talked to her, the T.V. was gone and the suspect was no longer there.
The suspect in both incidents was described as a white male in his 20’s or 30’s wearing a black jacket and a brown beanie hat and driving a dark colored car.
