NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A man is facing charges of impersonating a police officer and it's not the first time.

MNPD say 47-year-old Larry Lemay pulled over a woman June 23 on Dickerson Pike in East Nashville.

Police say Lemay is accused of equipping his 2007 Chevrolet Impala with emergency equipment to look like a police vehicle.

The woman told police Lemay pulled her over and said he stopped her for failing to yield the right of way. The woman drove off after she determined he wasn't a police officer.

Police say Lemay was convicted of the same crime in 2016.

Lemay's vehicle had emergency type lighting equipment visible through the windshield and rear window. A search of the inside of the vehicle is expected to happen soon.

Anyone who has had a recent similar encounter with Lemay is asked to contact East Precinct Investigations at 615-862-7525.
