A Sumner County man has been charged after allegedly pointing a gun at sheriff’s deputies following a pursuit.

John Francis Kimball, age 29 of Castalian Springs, led deputies with the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office on a pursuit in October from Lebanon to Whitson Road.

Reports stated Kimball then got out of his vehicle, showed a firearm, and pointed it in the direction of four deputies.

He was injured when deputies fired on him after he refused to drop his weapon.

Friday, Kimball was discharged from medical treatment. He was then arrested by an agent with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

Kimball was charged with four counts of aggravated assault, one count of evading arrest, and one count of reckless driving. He was being held in the Sumner County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
