A man has been charged after reportedly assaulting two Davidson County Sheriff's Office deputies.
Police were first called to the Love's Truck Stop on Tuesday where they arrested John Cheatham Jr. for trespassing.
Witnesses reported Cheatham because he had been arguing with employees of the truck stop and refused to leave.
According to an arrest affidavit, Cheatham was not listening to officers when he got to the booking office. Officers said Cheatham even grabbed a chair and wouldn't let it go, so officers said that had to use pepper spray on him.
At one point, police said Cheatham charged at a deputy and both fell to the ground. The arrest report states Cheatham then grabbed one deputy by the throat and began choking him to the point that deputy said he began to lose consciousness.
A second official was able to pull Cheatham away by pressing on his eyes, but then Cheatham allegedly turned on that officer by trying to gouge his eyes out and then biting him on his inner thigh.
Cheatham was eventually brought under control by authorities. In all, he's facing four charges, including two for assaulting an officer.
