MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – A man has been charged with murder in connection with an early morning fatal shooting in Rutherford County.
The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, at the Kings Crossing apartment complex on Northfield Boulevard in Murfreesboro.
Officials with Murfreesboro police said Dewey Abbott III has been charged with first degree murder in the case.
According to police, Jesse Sliepenbeek was found with a gunshot wound and taken to Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital where he later died.
Abbott was booked at the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office and held without bond.
No additional details were immediately known.
