Police were called to a Madison neighborhood overnight after a man was critically injured in a shooting.
Officials with Metro Nashville Police said the victim was found in his car on Kate Street with a gunshot wound to the chest.
He was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. His name was not known.
The shooting may have stemmed from a robbery, but they would like to talk to the victim to confirm, officers said.
No witnesses to the shooting have come forward.
However, a man in dark clothing was seen running from the scene.
