Man dead after Sunday night shooting

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro Nashville Police say 60-year-old David Gooch was shot and killed in the J.C. Napier public housing development Sunday night.

Police say officers responded to the 500 block of Charles E. Davis Boulevard around 9:15 p.m. Gooch was found with gunshot wounds to his face.

Metro Nashville Police officials say Gooch was an innocent bystander, caught in the middle of gunfire involving at least three people - two versus one.

The victim was rushed to the hospital but died from his injuries shortly after.

Police do not currently have a suspect in custody. The investigation is ongoing.
