NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A homicide investigation continues in East Nashville after a man was found shot in a crashed car. Metro police are requesting assistance from anyone who has information on the shooting.

The call came in late Wednesday night around 10 p.m. at Berkshire Place Apartments on Porter Road.

According to Metro police, when officers arrived on the scene, they found 22-year-old Braxton Cooper shot in the driver's seat of his crashed vehicle. Cooper was taken to Skyline Medical Center, where he died.

Shortly after officers found Cooper, a man who had been in the car with him returned to the scene. The man told detectives Cooper had arranged to purchase a handgun through an online ad. Anyone who has information on the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (615) 742-7463.
