Man Dies After Being Shot Multiple Times In North Nashville

A man was killed overnight after being shot multiple times in North Nashville.

Officers were called to the scene on 12th Avenue near Buchanan Street around 4:46 a.m. Saturday.

Metro Nashville Police said a woman had driven the victim, identified as 34-year-old James L. Perry, to the area and said he got out of the car.

As Perry was walking back to the vehicle, she said a man with a long gun came around from the side of a house and opened fire.

After hearing multiple gunshots, she drove away from the scene.

Nashville Fire Department crews arrived and pronounced Perry dead.

The woman drove back to the area once police had arrived. The investigation remained ongoing.
