A man was killed Thursday afternoon after he became pinned underneath a dump truck in Clarksville.
The incident happened around noon on Nolan Road. Clarksville Police said a dump truck with an attached trailer was parked at the top of a hill when at some point, it started to roll backwards.
From there, the truck struck a Ford Mustang, along with a tractor, and finally came to rest.
The truck’s driver, 58-year-old Scott Flitsch, had been standing at the rear of the truck and became trapped. Another man heard him screaming and found that his leg had been pinned underneath the passenger side rear tires.
Police said it’s not known how he became pinned.
Officials worked to free Flitsch and he was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Police said he died from his injuries around 2 p.m.
The incident was under investigation.
