NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A 26-year-old man died in a North Nashville shooting at 17th Avenue and Cockrill Street Tuesday.
The shooting happened around 1 a.m. Larenzo Gates was found on the porch of a home with a gunshot wound to his torso.
He was taken Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he died.
Tuesday evening, Metro Nashville Police officers arrested and charged 19-year-old Jamontez Sherrell in the shooting. They say Sherrell admitted to shooting Gates during an argument.
Officers also found the gun used by Sherrell.
