A man has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting in East Nashville from a year and a half ago.

Officials with Metro Nashville Police said 34-year-old Eric Jones has been booked for first-degree murder stemming from a December 2016 fatal shooting.

The victim, 39-year-old John Moss, was shot multiple times on Marina Street. Detectives found crack cocaine at the scene, leading them to believe the murder was drug-related.

Jones was being held without bond.

He was convicted on second-degree murder charges back in 1999. Police said he also has prior convictions for cocaine possession and felon in possession of a weapon.
