Man Charged In Fatal, Wrong-Way Crash In Nashville

A man has been charged in connection with a fatal, wrong-way crash in Nashville. 

The incident happened on June 30 on Briley Parkway near Eatons Creek Road. 

Officials with Metro Nashville Police said 58-year-old Ronald Harris was traveling the wrong way when he slammed into a car, killing 74-year-old Freida Clark and injuring 35-year-old Jacques T. Johnson. 

Johnson and Clark were both taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Clark was treated and released but Johnson died from her injuries on Monday.

Harris sustained serious injuries and was also transported to Vanderbilt.

Police said his blood alcohol level was .225 percent and an empty bottle of Jack Daniels was found in the driver’s area of his vehicle.

Harris was charged with aggravated vehicular homicide and aggravated vehicular assault. He was held in lieu of $60,000 bond.

Police said he has a previous conviction for reckless driving.
