A man was taken to an area hospital after his girlfriend found him beaten and shot inside their Madison apartment.
The incident happened late Tuesday night at Breckenridge Apartments, located on Nesbitt Lane.
Officials with Metro Nashville Police said a woman came home and found that her boyfriend had been beaten up and shot.

He was taken to an area hospital in serious condition, but is expected to survive.
Police said they’re still trying to determine exactly what happened. No suspect description was available.
