NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man has been taken into custody after crashing his car into a pole and then trying to flee police in North Nashville.
The incident happened early Friday morning on 5th Avenue North.
Officials with Metro Police said a driver sped away during a traffic stop in an attempt to flee from an officer.
The man allegedly tried to run away on foot after the crash. A female passenger was taken to an area hospital.
The suspect was caught and arrested. Police said he was driving on suspended license.
His identity was not known. No other details were available.
