A man critically wounded outside a South Nashville night club on New Year’s Day has died.
Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said 30-year-old Jorge Lizanna was shot during an exchange of gunfire, and died Tuesday, four days later.
It happened outside of La Parranda at 2033 Antioch Pike around 5:45 Friday morning, New Year’s Day.
Officers said a friend of Lizanna, 25-year-old Jesus Reyes-Pablo, got out of Lizanna’s car and fired shots in the air.
The business’ security guards fired in response toward the car, hitting Lizanna in the process.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting and whose weapon wounded Lizanna remained under investigation.
Reyes-Pablo was arrested on a charge of felony reckless endangerment. His bond was set at $5,000 and was due in court on January 26.
