Metro Nashville police investigated a stabbing early Tuesday south of Nashville.
Officers were called to the Z-Mart on Lafayette Street at about 1:30a.m. Tuesday.
Investigators said a man a man was found in the parking lot with a stab wound. Video surveillance footage showed the victim in the parking lot of the market, then crossing the street, and returning a short time later. He then collapsed in the parking lot, police said.
The victim was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for surgery. He is expected to survive his injuries.
At this point, police said the victim hasn't been able to provide information about where the attack happened, or his attacker.
