NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Officials said a man has been taken to the hospital after being shot in the head by his half-brother.
The incident happened around 8 p.m. Friday in the 1600 block of Cahal Avenue.
Police said the victim has been identified as 62-year-old George L. Baker, Jr. He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for critical injuries.
The suspect was identified as 54-year-old John Ross. Authorities said Ross was taken into custody and had allegedly been drinking.
Ross had called officials and said he had shot his brother, but he alleged he didn't mean to, the gun just went off.
Officials added a woman who was in the home at the time said both men were arguing at the time of the shooting.
According to the female witness, Ross was only ten feet away from his brother when the shot was fired.
Ross has been charged with attempted homicide. He was being held in lieu of a $150,000 bond.
