Man killed in apparent targeted shooting in North Nashville, police searching for suspects

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Police are investigating what they believe to be a targeted shooting that occurred on Saturday in North Nashville.

Around 4p.m., an unknown suspect shot 31-year-old Aaron Washington in an alley near 23rd Avenue North and Formosa Street.

Washington was shot in the chest and was located in a yard nearby. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died of his injury.

Witnesses told police that they heard about five gunshots and then saw Washington running down Formosa Street.

Currently the motive of the shooting is unknown.
