A 37-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Clarksville.
The wreck happened around 12:45 a.m. Saturday in the 400 block of Oak Street.
Reports stated the man, later identified as Craig Bobby Knight, was allegedly driving at a high rate of speed when the vehicle lost traction.
The car swerved, and Knight lost control causing the car to go off the road. The vehicle hit a utility pole, breaking the pole into pieces and knocking down lines.
Police said Knight passed away at the scene. A 31-year-old female passenger was taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in serious condition. She was last listed as stable. Her identity was not released.
The investigation remained ongoing.
