ANTIOCH, Tenn. (WTVF) — A man was made the victim of an attempted robbery while he was meeting a woman whom he first met on a social media website, Metro police said.

The victim met the woman at the Stone Ridge Apartments, located on the 500 block of Piccadilly Row in Antioch. He parked in the back of the complex, where he was met by the woman.

While the two were sitting on a bench, the man noticed two to three light-skinned men - possibly Hispanic - exit a silver truck and run toward him. Each of the suspects was armed with a handgun, except for one, who was armed with what appeared to possibly be an AK-47.

The suspect with the AK-47 demanded the victim's money and keys.

Without handing over his belongings, the man ran to the front of the complex. He was chased by the suspects, who eventually got into a light-colored, possibly silver extended cab Chevy truck.

The victim continued to run away, and began knocking on doors for help, before seeing another silver truck speeding toward him. The man then ran into the nearby wooded area to wait for police.

The suspects fled the area in two vehicles.

The woman whom the man met online is named as a suspect in this case. She is white, anywhere between 18 and 21 years old and was seen wearing blue pants, a white shirt and black shoes.

The suspect wielding the AK-47 has been described as a light-skinned man, either black or Hispanic, standing 5-feet-10-inches tall, wearing a black hoodie with blue pants.

The victim told police he believed there were anywhere from five to seven total suspects involved.

This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone who has information can call Crime Stoppers at (615) 74-CRIME.
