A man pled guilty to one count of rape of a child in Wilson County.
Reports stated Charles Blackburn gave the guilty plea Friday in Wilson County Criminal Court.
He was sentenced to 25 years in the penitentiary, which will be served at 100 percent.
Authorities confirmed Blackburn will be placed on the sex offender registry as a violent offender. He will also have community supervision for life.
Officials said the offense happened on April 7 in Lebanon and involved a six-year-old girl.
Police investigated after the victim told her mother about the incident. The mother immediately contacted officials.
Authorities with the Child Advocacy Center in Lebanon interviewed the six-year-old, and police interviewed Blackburn.
Blackburn’s admissions fit with the interview given by the victim.
