A Liverpool man has taken inspiration from the famous character Forrest Gump and ran cross country, not once, but multiple times.
"I just felt like running," Rob Pope said laughing.
Pope is from England, but said he's running across the U.S. for two causes: the World Wildlife Fund and Peace Direct. The two charities are close to his heart.
"It's actually a really important day tomorrow because it's earth hour, which is where everybody at 8:30 p.m. you have to turn your lights off for an hour," said Pope. "But it's also quite a good coincidence because it's also the anniversary of when John and Yoko did their bed-in for peace; and so both of my charities have got an important day tomorrow."
Pope's journey ends at the Marshall Pointe Lighthouse in Maine, which is where Forrest Gump ended his run in the 1994 film.
