A Lyles man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for the production of child pornography.
Reports stated 45-year-old James Earl Tuttle was sentenced Wednesday by U.S. District Court Judge William L. Campbell, Jr.
He was indicted by a federal grand jury on July 6, 2016, charged with two counts of production of child pornography.
Tuttle pleaded guilty to one count of the indictment on March 16, 2017.
Court records showed a 15-year-old girl told her mother that Tuttle had been raping her since she was 13 years old. The teen disclosed that information to her mother in April 2016.
An investigation ensued after the family reported the repeated rapes to the Fairview Police Department.
According to investigators, Tuttle also recorded sexually explicit images of the girl on at least two occasions in November 2015.
An investigation also revealed that in addition to rape, Tuttle had also tried to convince the girl to have sex with other men for money.
A search warrant was executed in April 2016, which was when Tuttle confessed to taking nude pictures of the child and admitted to sharing the pictures on the internet.
He then later admitted to raping the girl on multiple occasions.
Tuttle told authorities he “knew it was wrong,” however, he also blamed the child claiming she seduced him when she was 13.
