Man shot during attempted robbery in northwest Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — An investigation got underway overnight after a man was shot during an attempted robbery in Nashville.

The incident happened at 2:40 a.m. Tuesday on Hummingbird Drive near Tucker Road.

Officials with Metro Nashville police said a 46-year-old man was walking down the road when a vehicle pulled up behind him.

The victim told police that a man armed with a handgun got out and demanded money. When he said he didn’t have any cash, the gunman shot him and fled west on Hummingbird Drive.

The victim was taken to Skyline Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
