A 22-year-old man was critically injured when shots were fired during an altercation stemming from a social media dispute.

Officers were on an unrelated call when they reported hearing gunfire in the area of Dickerson Pike, Monday evening.

Metro police dispatch later got a call of a shooting victim on Treutlan Place.

According to an affidavit from Metro Nashville police, Alando Harris Jr. was struck in the head and taken to TriStar Skyline Medical Center. Police said he’s not expected to survive.

Police said his father, Alando Harris Sr., said the shooting stemmed from an ongoing social media dispute in which Harris Sr. was involved.

Harris Sr. agreed to meet with the individuals and asked his son to go with him.

According to investigators, surveillance video shows both parties arriving to the scene and reacting to gunfire “almost immediately.”

Police said 20-year-old Jadon Malone was identified as a suspect through social media and selected from a lineup of individuals.

Police said Malone, of 12th Avenue South, traveled to the James Cayce public housing development, where he was taken into custody.

He’s been charged with attempted criminal homicide.
