At least one person was shot at an apartment complex on Hamilton Church Road.
The shooting happened Wednesday before noon at the complex in the 3000 block.
Details on the shooting were limited. Authorities said a man in his early 20s had been standing outside his townhome when he was shot in the back, but they added he was not cooperating with police.
The victim was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with critical injuries.
A weapon had not been found, and other residents at the complex were not speaking with authorities.
