NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A man was shot in the chest during an assault in Donelson early Friday morning.
Metro police believe the shooting happened near the U-Wash car wash on Donelson Pike just before 5:00a.m. Friday.
Witnesses told police they saw the assault happen, then heard two gunshots.
Investigators say the victim ran to a home on Woodberry Drive, just a few blocks away, to get help.
Metro Police responded to that home and the man was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center by ambulance, with what officers describe as life-threatening injuries.
At this point, police aren't sure what led to the assault and gunfire. They also have not released any information about the gunman.
