Man Shot In Head In Lebanon Walmart Parking Lot

LEBANON, Tenn. - A man was taken to an area hospital overnight after shots were fired in the parking lot of a Lebanon Walmart.

The incident happened just after 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at the location on South Cumberland Street.

The ordeal began with people in two different cars involved in some sort of argument, and ended with a partial shotgun blast hitting a man in the back of his head.

Eyewitnesses told Lebanon police officers that a dark-colored, four-door sedan -- possibly a Nissan Altima -- pulled up behind a car that was parked in the busy parking lot.

There was some sort of confrontation, and one of the suspects in the sedan pulled out a shotgun and pulled the trigger.

The blast shattered the back windshield of the parked car. Some of the shotgun pellets struck the front seat passenger in the back of the head.

Doctors said the victim should survive.

The two people in the suspect car drove off and have yet to be located. Police think that everyone involved knew each other.
