NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A man was shot in the head and ran over just after midnight Saturday in Edgehill. Metro police (MNPD) are looking for the suspect.

MNPD says that 44-year-old Tony Bonds and a woman were walking toward an apartment building on the 1100 block of Horton Avenue, when the suspect randomly confronted Bonds.

After a brief altercation between them, the suspect shot Bonds in the head. The shooter then got into a late model white car - possibly a Ford Fusion - reversed out of the parking lot and ran over Bonds.

Detectives are working to determine the suspect's identity and locate the car. The suspect is a black man in his late teens or early 20's, is approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall and was wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans.

It is believed that Bonds did not know the suspect.

A woman who was standing outside with the suspect left the scene in a black pickup truck.

Anyone with information on this incident, the suspect, his vehicle or the woman who left in the truck is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (615) 742-7463.
