Police say 'dispute over a woman' led to deadly Nashville shooting

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Police say a “dispute over a woman” led to a deadly shooting at an apartment complex in Nashville. The suspect was arrested after an overnight standoff.

According to Metro Nashville police, 20-year-old Lawine Adderly was found lying in a parking lot at Richland Hills Apartments on Maudina Avenue. The shooting call came in around 8 p.m. Sunday.

Adderly was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.

Police arrested the suspect, 21-year-old Andre L. Cole, early Monday morning. He was taken into custody after a standoff at an apartment on Long Hunter Lane in Nashboro Village.

Investigators recovered a pistol from the apartment.

Cole was charged with criminal homicide and held in lieu of $150,000 bond. This is Nashville's 41st homicide of the year.
