Man Shot, Killed During Attempted Robbery In South Nashville

Posted

Police said an attempted robbery was the likely motive in a fatal shooting in south Nashville.

The call came in shortly before 8 p.m. Tuesday in the 5400 block of Nolensville Pike.

Officials with Metro Nashville Police said 52-year-old Atanacio Comacho-Cedillo was walking along Hickoryview Drive toward Nolensville Pike when he was confronted by two people.

They had apparently just gotten out of a vehicle parked in the side rear parking lot of a nearby Dollar General store.

At some point during the confrontation, Camacho-Cedillo was shot. Police said his wallet and cellphone were found on him, suggesting the suspects didn’t get anything from him.
