NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro Nashville police are investigating a shooting that killed a man late Tuesday night.

Officers said a citizen reported seeing a man slumped over in the driver's seat of a vehicle parked on the wrong side of Morrison Street that had hit another vehicle. A nearby resident told officers they heard gunshots just before 11 p.m.

When police arrived, they found 32-year-old David Hernandez with his foot still on the gas pedal. He had been shot in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. Evidence recovered from the scene suggests the shots were fired from inside the vehicle.

Detectives are actively investigating the shooting and ask anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
