Man Shot Near Library In South Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A 21-year-old man was injured Wednesday morning in a shooting south of downtown Nashville.

Officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department were called a market near the intersection of Lafayette Street and Wharf Avenue around 6 a.m.

The victim told police he was shot in the leg near the Pruitt Branch library on Charles Davis Avenue. Afterwards, he approached a crew with Metro Public Works, who were doing landscaping work at the library.

They drove him to Eddie's Cee Bee Food Store, where police were called. 

The victim was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. His identity was not known. 

Sky 5 flew over the scene and showed at least four police vehicles at the location following the shooting.

The victim was not able to provide investigators with a description of the suspect. They said he is not being cooperative.
