A man was in critical condition after being shot while driving down Interstate 40 in Donelson.
The shooting happened on I-40 East right before the exit for Briley Parkway.
The victim called 911 around 2:45 a.m. Saturday prompting a large emergency response.
He was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with multiple gunshot wounds.
The exit ramp was shut down for several hours. The motive behind the shooting was unclear, and a suspect had not yet been identified.
