NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police are working to determine if a man who suffered a gunshot wound in South Nashville injured himself or was shot by someone else.
Earlier in the morning, police searched for a man, who was reportedly armed with a gun, in an area near Patricia Drive, not far from Briley Parkway and the eastbound side of Interstate 40.
The man was apparently seen running into a wooded area with a gun.
Sometime later, the gunshot victim was injured on Patricia Drive. It was unknown at this time if the incidents are related.
Police said the victim was extremely intoxicated and refused medical treatment.
Sky 5 flew over the area and showed at least three police vehicles blocking a portion of the road. The street has since reopened.
The investigation remains ongoing.
