NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man and a teenager were injured Wednesday in separate shootings in Nashville.

The first incident happened around 10 p.m. in the 1600 block of 16th Avenue North in north Nashville.

Officials with Metro Police said the 22-year-old victim was standing on the sidewalk outside his home, when the gunman allegedly walked up, shot him in the leg and fled the scene.

Police said they believe the shooting was random and that the two men didn’t know each other.

The victim was taken to an area hospital but was expected to recover.

Only seven hours earlier, a teen was shot in the leg in a similar crime on Treutland Avenue in east Nashville.

The 19-year-old said he was shot during a robbery, but in that case it’s believed that the victim does know who shot him.

Police are still investigating both of these shootings but no suspects are in custody at this time.

Anyone with information was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME.
