Manhunt Underway In Nashville Drive-By Shooting

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A manhunt is underway in west Nashville for those responsible for a late night drive-by shooting.

The incident happened shortly before midnight Friday at a residence on 23rd Avenue.

Officials with Metro police said someone inside a car opened fire on a family inside their own home. Several children were inside at the time of the shooting.

The home and a car were struck multiple times in the gunfire. At least five or six shell casings were seen scattered along the ground.

Police have confirmed this was a targeted attack.

According to detectives, at least two guns were involved in the shooting. A handgun and rifle appeared to be the weapons used.

Officers spent several hours in the neighborhood and used flashlights to search for any additional pieces of evidence.

So far, no suspects have been named. No other details were known.
