A body was found in the Harpeth River in Franklin.
Detectives with the Franklin Police Department said kayakers near the Chestnut Bend subdivision discovered a man's body in the river at 8:20 a.m. Saturday.
Officials said they have made a preliminary identification of the deceased. They will release the man's name pending notification to his next of kin.
Authorities said foul play was not immediately apparent.
They have released the man's body to the Medical Examiner to determine his cause of death.
