A suspect accused of slashing a man’s throat during a carjacking in Nashville has been taken into custody.

Officials with Metro Nashville police said the incident happened back in July on Gallatin Pike. Officers found the victim "bleeding profusely" and were able to render aid.

The victim’s car was found nearby and was “covered with blood,” police said.

According to a police affidavit, the victim knew the suspect and was able to identify him in a photo lineup.

The suspect, 34-year-old Randy Pigues, was taken into custody on Tuesday and charged with especially aggravated robbery.

He was held on a $100,000 bond.
