A mother was fatally stabbed in front of her two children during a domestic situation in Maury County.
According to Maury County Sheriff Bucky Rowland, on Thursday night, the domestic issue involving her and a man started in Columbia, but continued out of the city.
While driving, the man ran the woman off of the road. The sheriff said that's when she grabbed her two children from her vehicle and got into the man's car.
He drove them back to their home where the argument continued, and got so heated that it ended with the man injured and the mother being stabbed.
She was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, but died from her injuries. The suspect was transported by ground.
He was not yet in custody, but was expected to be charged with murder along with other charges once released from hospital.
The children were unharmed, and were in the care of a family member.
