NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Once a month, Nashville Mayor John Cooper will foster an animal for a day at his office in Downtown Nashville.

Cooper is participating in Metro Animal Care and Control's Bow Wow Breakout program to give each animal a break from the shelter.

The first animal to be fostered at the Mayor's Office is Delilah, a 2-year-old brown Labrador retriever.

Cooper is encouraging all Nashvillians to get involved in the program.

"You never know, they might just find their forever home, and you might find yourself being rescued," Cooper said.
