NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A forum was held Monday night at Mount Zion Baptist Church for the candidates vying to be the next mayor of Nashville.

The church sponsored the discussion, along with the city's panhellenic council.

This forum was dedicated to issues like equality, race, and how the candidates plan to advance important issues in the African American community.

“I think it’s important now that people really feel like they have a candidate who's listening, who's concerned about all of Nashville. Nashville is the "it" city, and "it" needs to kinda spread around,” said Senior Pastor Bishop Joseph Walker III.

Mount Zion Baptist Church represents upwards of 20,000 voters in Nashville.
